1 dozen pastured eggs | 1 dozen = $6.00 + $0.00 Assembly | Out of Stock |
Our chickens are raised directly on pasture, moved frequently, and are fed a non-GMO, corn-free, soy-free, non-medicated feed from a local source.
No hormones, synthetic dewormers or antibiotics are ever given.
I specify "synthetic" because they do get apple cider vinegar and garlic (both natural antibiotics) in their water when they are very young (during the 1st week), and may have some therapeutic-grade essential oils added to their water from time to time (i.e. oregano (natural dewormer and antibiotic/antiviral).
Some of the health benefits of consuming pastured chicken eggs include:
Rich in Essential Fatty Acids (pastured poultry has more Omega-3's and vitamin D than commercial chicken).
Higher levels of vitamins E, C, and beta-carotene.
Of course raising chickens directly on grass has additional benefits, as well. This method is clearly better for the environment, as chickens naturally deposit their God-made, nitrogen-rich poo directly on the ground, then are moved off the ground, which is both great for the soil, and keeps things hygienic for the chickens. Chickens being outdoors 24/7, with access to shelter, and plenty of grass, bugs, and seeds to forage for, is how they are created to live. Obviously this makes for happy chickens. Their barrier is electric fencing, which keeps predators out. We would free-range the chickens if we could, but we cannot do so safely. Their safety and happiness are our primary concerns.
Chickens that feel safe, while still being in their natural habitat, are happy chickens. And happy chickens are healthy chickens!!
